Hazardous waste
Anyone wishing to dispose of hazardous waste must keep a register or certain records of its whereabouts.
The register or the records to be kept document the disposal processes of the hazardous waste. The obligation to keep the register applies to producers, holders, collectors, carriers, traders and brokers as well as all disposers of hazardous waste.
The obligation to keep records applies to the same group of persons with the exception of dealers and brokers of hazardous waste.
Non-hazardous waste
In individual cases, the competent authority may order that registers or records of the whereabouts of non-hazardous waste must also be kept.
Waste disposers must in any case also keep a register of the disposal of non-hazardous waste.
Form of record keeping
The registers and records must be kept in electronic form; electronic form is only optional for the keeping of registers on the disposal of non-hazardous waste.
Private households
These obligations do not apply to private households.
