If you wish to train dogs for protection purposes or open a facility to keep the animals, you must apply for a permit from the competent authority before starting the activity. Protection purposes are, for example, the protection of persons, buildings or other objects.

You may only start the activity after you have received the permit.

• Sketch or construction drawings, plan documents of the premises or facilities

In order to obtain a permit, you generally have to provide proof of your expertise in handling the respective animals and your reliability. In addition, the permit and the conditions are tailored to the individual case.

The expertise required for the activity can generally be assumed if the person responsible has completed state-recognized or other training or further training that qualifies them to handle the animal species covered by the activity.
