If there are indications of changes, the Künstlersozialkasse can review your artistic or publishing activities and your income.
The Künstlersozialkasse can check on an ad hoc basis whether you still meet the requirements for compulsory insurance or entitlement to a subsidy under the Artists' Social Insurance Act.
For this purpose, the Künstlersozialkasse will request information and proof from you, in particular
- the area of your artistic or journalistic activity,
- other activities,
- your types of income.
- Completed online application or completed questionnaire
- Proof of income from previous years, such as
- Income tax assessment notices
- Profit and loss statements
- If applicable, proof of activity, such as
- business registration
- employment contract
- fee contract
- depending on your details, further documents if necessary, such as
- articles of association
- Proof of foreign matters
- You are currently subject to compulsory insurance or entitled to a subsidy via the Artists' Social Security Fund.
- You must have been subject to compulsory insurance or entitled to a subsidy during the period under review.
- The Künstlersozialkasse has concrete evidence that makes a review necessary.
- You will be asked by the Künstlersozialkasse to disclose your income situation for the audit.
The Künstlersozialkasse will send you a letter asking you to provide information about your current professional situation and to report your actual earned income for previous years.
You can submit your answer online or by post.
Online notification:
- Call up the online form on the federal portal verwaltung.bund.de. This will guide you step by step through the necessary information, which you can enter electronically.
- Note: You will need a valid ELSTER certificate to log in to the online form. Alternatively, you can use your electronic ID document.
- As a rule, you will need around 40 minutes to complete the online application. In some cases, it may take longer to complete. However, you can save your details at any time and continue the process later.
- First enter your personal details, including your insurance number. You will find this in the top right-hand corner of the letter from the Künstlersozialkasse.
- On the next page, select which questionnaire you have received and enter the date of the questionnaire. You will find the type of questionnaire at the top left of your questionnaire.
- On the following pages, enter the information required for the review and upload the necessary documents.
Notification by post:
- Complete the questionnaire to check the requirements for your compulsory insurance under the Artists' Social Insurance Act (KSVG) in full.
- Sign the questionnaire.
- Enclose the necessary proof of your work and income with the questionnaire.
- Send everything together to the Künstlersozialkasse.
After receiving your reply, the Künstlersozialkasse will check your details. If there are any queries or further documents are required, the Künstlersozialkasse will contact you by post.
Please answer any queries from the Künstlersozialkasse immediately.
At the end of the procedure, you will receive a notification from the Künstlersozialkasse by post.
