Parents are obliged to provide maintenance for their children. If a parent does not live with his child in a household, he is obliged to pay maintenance through monetary payments. A child has a legal right to maintenance. The Youth Welfare Office, in the form of conservatorship, can advise children and their affected parents and support them in asserting their claim.
