If you require a multilingual extract from the civil status register, you can apply for this.
This can be requested together with the death certificate.
Bhen applying, you must submit
- Your identity card or passport (if applying in writing: certified copy),
- in the case of application or collection by a representative:
- written power of attorney from the authorized person,
- their identity card (original or certified copy) or
- passport (original or certified copy) and
- the identity card or passport of the authorized person.
- for other persons:
- if applicable, proof of their legitimate/legal interest.
- Proof of identity (copy)
- The register extract can be requested by: Spouses, life partners, ancestors and descendants of the deceased person
- Siblings of the deceased must credibly demonstrate a legitimate interest when making the application.
- Other persons must credibly demonstrate a legal interest when applying.
- They must be at least 16 years old.
12.00 Euro (if ordered at the same time, each additional copy costs 6.00 Euro), unless the municipality has stipulated a different fee by statute.
You apply for a multilingual extract from the civil register at the relevant registry office.
The registry office checks your details and the documents you have submitted and issues the multilingual extract if necessary.
The registry office will send you the multilingual extract if no personal collection has been agreed.
The fees are paid either in advance or after sending / on collection.
The period of 30 years for the continuation of the death register by the registry office must not have expired.
