You can extend your existing driving license with a category C, CE, C1, C1E, D, DE, D1 or D1E driving license.
You can extend your existing driving license with a driving license for categories C, CE, C1 or C1E, D, DE, D1 or D1E.
The driving license for categories C, CE, C1 or C1E, D, DE, D1 or D1E is issued for a maximum of five years and can be extended by five years at the request of the license holder.

- Proof of eyesight in accordance with the model in Annex 6 No. 2 to the Driving License Ordinance. You can have the certificate issued by an ophthalmologist, a company or occupational physician or a doctor from the public health department. An issued certificate is valid for 2 years.
- Proof of physical and mental aptitude in accordance with the model in Annex 5 of the Driving License Ordinance. You can have the certificate issued by any doctor. The certificate must not be older than one year at the time of application.
- In addition, for categories D, D1, DE, D1E, if you have reached the age of 50, a performance psychology report. The certificate must not be older than one year at the time of application. You can have the certificate issued by any doctor. The certificate must not be older than one year at the time of application.
- For D classes: Police clearance certificate for submission to an authority (document type O)
- You must have reached the minimum age required in accordance with § 10 FeV.
- You must provide proof of your eyesight and a medical certificate confirming your physical and mental fitness to drive a truck.
- For D classes, you must also provide a certificate of good conduct. If you are over 50 years old, you must also submit a performance psychology report for D classes.
A driving license for categories C, CE, C1, C1E, D, DE, D1 or D1E is issued for a maximum of five years.
The issue of a driving license can be applied for at the earliest six months before reaching the respective minimum age authority.
