If you want to be self-employed in the traveling trade, you need a traveling trade license.
You operate a traveling trade if you work as a showman, "flying trader" or owner of a market stall, i.e. if you offer your services or goods at constantly changing locations.
According to the law, the following commercial activities are classified as traveling trade (Section 55 of the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act)
- the purchase and sale of goods or other commercial services
- the offering of services
- the solicitation of orders for services
- the exercise of entertainment activities as an independent showman or in the manner of a showman.
The traveling trade license may be restricted in terms of content, issued with a time limit and subject to conditions insofar as this is necessary to protect the general public or consumers; under the same conditions, the subsequent inclusion, amendment and addition of conditions is also permitted.
If you have a temporary travel trade license and wish to extend it, you must apply to the competent authority.
You must already be in possession of a travel trade license for the competent authority to renew your travel trade license.
Once you have submitted the application to extend your traveling trade card and all documents are complete, the competent authority will check whether the relevant requirements are met.
If all requirements are met, your travel trade license will be extended.
