You have an obligation to notify the authorities,
- if the rent/charge (excluding heating costs) is reduced by more than 15 percent,
- if the income of the household members increases by more than 15 percent,
- if the number of household members decreases,
- if one or more household members apply for or receive transfer benefits (unemployment benefit II, social benefit, basic income support),
- if a single household member dies (notification by the heirs or guardians).
The changes can lead to a reduction or, if necessary, to the complete elimination of housing benefit.
If you are already receiving housing benefit, you can submit a new application for higher housing benefit,
- if your total income has decreased,
- the number of household members to be taken into account has increased or
- your rent or housing costs have increased.
