If you move out of a secondary residence in Germany and do not move into a new residence, you must deregister for this residence.
The following documents are required:
- Identity documents of the persons to be deregistered.
The following requirements must be met:
- You are moving out of a secondary residence in Germany for good and
- You are not moving into a new home.
The deregistration procedure is as follows:
In person:
- You go to the relevant authority and fill out a registration form.
- You present the identity documents of the person to be deregistered.
- You will then receive the official confirmation of registration from the registration office.
In writing:
- You inform the registration office of the extract with the completed registration form.
- You enclose copies of the ID cards of the persons to be deregistered.
- You will receive the official confirmation of registration by post from the registration office.
Electronically:
- If electronic access has been set up by the registration authority, you can also deregister electronically.
Deregistration deadline (from moving out): within 2 weeks.
Deregistration (possible at the earliest): one week before moving out.
