If you move into a new home, you will need confirmation from your landlord or landlady that you have moved in. You will need this confirmation for your registration office when you register or re-register.

The landlord or landlady is usually the owner. It may also be the property management company appointed by the owner. If you are living as a subtenant, the main tenant may also be involved.

The confirmation contains the following information:

• Name and address of the landlord or landlady and the owner, if different,
• Date of moving in,
• address of the apartment and
• the names of the persons required to register.

The following requirements must be met:

• You have moved in or moved house and
• You are not the landlord or landlady yourself.

The procedure is as follows:

• You contact your landlord or landlady and ask him or her to confirm that you have moved in using the official form.
• You then present the confirmation to the registration authority when you register or re-register.
• If access is available, the landlord or landlady can also send you the confirmation electronically. In this case, you inform the registration authority of the so-called allocation feature that your landlord or landlady has given you.
