If you are a German or EU citizen and move to another municipality during the municipal election period, you are only entitled to vote for the mayor of the municipality you are moving to if you move before the 16th day before the election.
You must also be at least 16 years old on election day and not be disqualified from voting.
In addition to the substantive right to vote, participation in the election requires registration in the municipal electoral roll or a polling card.
If you have your (main) place of residence in the electoral area before the 16th day, you will be entered in the electoral roll ex officio if you fulfill the other requirements.

If you register in the municipality you are moving to at the time of the mayoral election, you will be informed of any changes to your eligibility to vote.
