If you process, store or trade wine or grape must commercially, you must report your stocks to the competent authority by July 31 of the respective year.
The following are obliged to register:
- Businesses that are registered in the vineyard register,
- Businesses that produce wine and grape must for sale,
- Businesses in the wholesale of wine and grape must,
- Businesses that produce sparkling wine (sparkling wine cellars)
Under certain conditions, the obligation to register does not apply.
You can obtain the form from the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Agriculture.
You must declare all stocks that are in your storage rooms on 31.07., regardless of whether they come from your own or third-party production. You must subdivide the stocks according to quality level, origin and type of wine. You must also allocate sparkling wine and sparkling base wine here. You must also report these separately in the "Sparkling wine" field (double declaration).
Rosé wine, Rotling and Weißherbst are listed under "Red wine".
Sparkling wine and liqueur wine are listed under "Other wine".
Wines made from a blend of wines from Germany and wines from other EU countries should be classified as wines from "other EU countries" (under "B").
Report wine of German origin to which wine from third countries has been added as "Other wine of German origin" (under "A6").
Report wine from other EU countries to which wine from third countries has been added as "Other wine" from "other EU countries" (under "B6").
You also list processed wines under "Other wine". This applies to those that cannot be assigned to a specific characteristic (e.g. products for vinegar production and distillation).
You do not have to declare: house wine, marc wine, pressed yeast wine, fruit wine, berry wine, sparkling fruit wine, denatured and non-marketable wine, non-alcoholic or alcohol-reduced wine and the sparkling drinks made from it, as well as wine-based drinks (e.g. mulled wine) and grape juice.
If you store wines in several federal states, you must declare them separately by federal state. You must also declare quantities that the trade has purchased but not yet taken over, provided that these are stored at your premises on 31.07.
The declarations of wine and grape must stocks can also be used for control purposes.
