If you are active as a showman, travelling salesman or owner of a market stall, i.e. if you offer your services or goods at constantly changing locations, or seek out orders or purchase goods or seek out orders for services outside a branch office without a prior order, you are operating a traveling trade. To do this, you need a traveling trade card.

The traveling trade card must be carried by the trader when carrying out his activity and must be shown to representatives of the local competent authority on request. As an employer, he must hand over a duplicate or a certified copy of the traveling trade card to employees who have direct customer contact in his business without his presence or who work at a location other than his own.

• Identity card or passport
• Extract from the commercial, association or cooperative register, if applicable
• Police clearance certificate of the applicant or managing director
• Extract from the central trade register
• Trade license, if applicable
• Proof of liability insurance for showmen, if applicable

An appeal against a negative or restrictive decision may be lodged with the competent authority within one month of notification in writing or orally for the record.

The trade authority of the municipal or city administration where the applicant has or will have his habitual residence or - in the case of legal entities - where the company has or will have its registered office.
