In the primary school, pupils of the 1st to 4th grade are taught. In primary school, basic skills and abilities in reading, writing and arithmetic are taught.
In the 4th grade, you will receive a non-binding school career recommendation for your child to choose the further course of education. The school career recommendation is regarded as orientation, you decide independently about the further education of your child.
Attendance at primary school is compulsory for all children.
- Birth certificate of your child or family record book
- Proof of measles vaccination
- All children who have reached the age of 6 by 30.6. of a calendar year will be required to attend school at the beginning of the following school year.
- Children who have reached the age of 5 by this date can also be enrolled in school if they are sufficiently developed physically, mentally and in their social behaviour.
- Before admission to school, you are obliged to have your child examined by a school doctor.
- The school authority (usually the municipality) asks you as a parent to register your school-age child in primary school.
- This is almost always the nearest public elementary school to home.
- Together with your child, you then introduce yourself to the primary school and register your child there.
