Will your child be 5 years old by 30 June in the year of school enrolment and you would like to start school early due to your child's level of development? Read here how to apply for early school enrolment.

Children are generally enrolled in school when they celebrate their 6th birthday in the period from 01.07. of the previous year to 30.06. of the year of school enrolment. If parents wish, their children who reach the age of 5 by 30 June of the following school year can also be enrolled in school. In both cases, registration at the school is necessary.

Tip: The pedagogical specialists of the day care center and the school management of the primary school can advise you at the appropriate time of enrollment of your child.

• if necessary, other documents such as a medical certificate from the district office or the city administration

• Your child has reached the age of 5 by June 30 of the following school year
• Your child has a mental and physical level of development required to attend school

Register your child at the primary school and apply to the school management for early school enrolment.

• Your child, like all other children, will take part in the school medical examination. It also determines your child's current stage of development.
• The school management will then invite you to a conversation with your child.
• The decision as to whether your child can actually be enrolled in school prematurely is finally made by the school management.
• Your child will be required to attend school upon admission.

Note: The registration of your child at the primary school and the application for early school enrolment must be carried out jointly as parents, provided that you have joint custody. If one of the partners is unable to attend, a power of attorney and a copy of the absent person's ID must be presented.

Application: no later than 15.03. of the desired school year

If parents wish, their children who reach the age of 5 by 30 June can apply for early school enrolment in the following school year. Have the physical and mental conditions required for school attendance and are sufficiently developed in their social behaviour. These children are required to attend school upon admission.
