The schools of the second educational path are divided into:

• the evening secondary school,
• the evening grammar school and
• the Kolleg.

Compared to the evening grammar school, the Kolleg is designed as a day training and leads adults who have already proven themselves in professional life to the Abitur. It is divided into a one-year introductory phase and a two-year qualification phase.

The schools of the second educational path (Abendgymnasium/Kolleg) are run as independent schools in Halle and Magdeburg.

• an informal application application with passport photo
• a curriculum vitae in tabular form
• proof of residence in the state of Saxony-Anhalt
• an officially certified copy of the certificate of school leaving certificate
• an officially certified copy of the certificate of vocational training
• proof of employment or unemployment

When submitting the application documents, the original birth certificate must be submitted.

You will be admitted to the Kolleg if you enter the introductory phase:

• have your place of residence in the state of Saxony-Anhalt,
• have reached the age of 18 on 1 August of the year of admission,
• have achieved the lower secondary school leaving certificate I – Fachoberschulreife or the Realschulabschluss or an equivalent qualification and have completed vocational training, or
• can prove at least two years of regular professional activity, which also includes the management of a family household.
• If you are studying, you are not allowed to carry out any professional activity during your visit to the Kolleg.

Note: Periods of basic military service, alternative service, voluntary military service, voluntary social or voluntary ecological year, federal voluntary service, development service, vocational training that has begun but not been successfully completed, as well as unemployment or occupational disability certified by an official doctor by a certificate from the Employment Agency are recognised. The exercise of self-employment can be credited as a professional activity upon proof by the submission of documents.

You apply with the complete documents to the school of the second educational path (Kolleg).

After successful application, you will receive a confirmation from the Research Training Group and begin your training.
