Did you take less water last year than permitted in the water law notice? Then you have the opportunity to apply for a reduction in the water abstraction fee.

You must pay a water abstraction fee if you take or discharge water from above-ground waters. You also have to pay a water abstraction fee if you extract, unearth, unearth or discharge groundwater.

You can apply for a reduction in the water abstraction fee if the amount of water actually withdrawn is lower or the intended use of the water is different from that permitted by the water law notice.

• Proof of the quantity actually withdrawn (form "reading protocol")
• Or proof of the actual intended use of the water

• The amount of water taken in the last year is less than permitted in the water law decision
• Or you have used the water for a different purpose than permitted in the water law decision

None.

The State Administration Office calculates the water abstraction fee and determines this by decision.

Once you have received the notification, you must pay the water abstraction fee within one month.

Until 31.03. you have the opportunity to apply for a discount for the previous year.

• Please submit the completed forms to the State Administration Office.
• The competent authority will examine your application.
• You will then receive a notification of the water abstraction fee from the State Administration Office.

You must apply for a discount for the previous year by 31.03.

Example: You took less water in 2020. You can apply for a discount for the year 2020 until 31.03.2021. The necessary documents must be available to the competent authority by that date. A later assertion is excluded.

You may bring an action before the competent administrative court within one month of notification of the assessment decision.
