You can add category L to your driving license.
With a category L driver's license (colloquially known as a "small tractor driver's license"), you can drive the following vehicles at the age of 16:
- Tractors intended and used for agricultural or forestry purposes with a maximum design speed of no more than 40 km/h
- Combinations of these vehicles and trailers if they are driven at a maximum speed of 25 km/h
- self-propelled machinery, feed mixers, forklifts and other industrial trucks, each with a maximum design speed of 25 km/h or less
- Combinations of these vehicles and trailers
The category L driving license is issued for an unlimited period.
- Valid identity card or passport (with current registration certificate if applicable)
- Application for extension of the driving license
- a biometric photo in accordance with the passport regulations (size 45x35 mm)
- Eye test certificate (not older than two years)
- Proof of first aid training (if not already shown to the driving license authority)
- Valid driver's license
- If applicable, a copy of the file card from the last issuing authority (if different from the authority)
- Details of driving school
- You must have a driver's license.
- You must have your main residence in the Federal Republic of Germany.
- You must have reached the minimum age of 16 years.
The fee is based on the scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOSt).
If the driver's license is sent directly to your home address, an additional shipping fee will be charged.
Antragsfrist: 12 Monat(e)
The application for an extension of a driving license expires if you do not pass the theory test within 12 months of receiving the test order.
