If you wish to make a significant change to a direct current system or a low-frequency system with a rated voltage of 110 kilovolts, you must notify the competent authority.
If your installation does not require any other official permits relating to immission control, you must notify the competent authority of any planned significant change. You have at least 2 weeks before the change is carried out to do this.
If you want to make a significant change to a low-frequency installation with less than 110 kilovolts, you only have to submit the necessary documents if the competent authority requests you to do so.
- Your system crosses or lies
- on a property in the area of a development plan or
- within a built-up district or
- on a property with residential buildings in an outdoor area.
- You submit the notification with the site plan to the competent authority in writing by post or electronically by e-mail.
- The competent authority will receive your notification and check it.
- If further information is required, the authority will contact you.
There is no statutory processing period.
You must have submitted the notification to the responsible authority at least 2 weeks before the significant changes to your system. Processing will take place promptly after receipt of the notification.

If you do not submit the report, or do not submit it correctly, completely or on time, you are committing an administrative offense.
