You can submit an application if you wish to determine whether your measuring system is suitable for recording water withdrawal quantities.

You must pay a water withdrawal fee if you withdraw or discharge water from surface waters or if you withdraw, extract, convey or discharge groundwater.

The quantities of water withdrawn must be measured and verified using a measuring device.

You can have the suitability of the measuring equipment used checked. You must submit an application for this.

• Application to determine the suitability of the measuring system
• Details of the measuring device used, location and installation situation (possibly with photographic evidence)

• Please submit the completed forms to the competent authority.
• They will check your application.
• Once the application has been checked, you will receive a decision.

You can lodge a complaint with the competent administrative court within one month of notification of the decision.

• Water abstraction charges are payable if water is abstracted or discharged from surface waters or if groundwater is abstracted, extracted, conveyed or discharged.
• Water withdrawal quantities must be measured and verified using a measuring device.
• Whether the measuring device used is suitable can be determined with the application for determination of the suitability of the measuring device.
• The completed form must be submitted to the responsible office.
• They will check the application.
• Once the application has been reviewed, a decision will be issued by the competent body.
