Application for the granting of subsidies for training allowances for disabled persons in accordance with § 73 of the Third Book of the Social Code (Drittes Buch Sozialgesetzbuch/SGB III)
Grants may be awarded towards the training allowance for the in-company initial or continuing training of persons with disabilities in training occupations if the initial or continuing training would otherwise not be possible.
The amount of the subsidies is
- up to 60 per cent of the monthly training allowance for the last year of training,
- for severely disabled persons (degree of disability of at least 50 per cent) up to 80 per cent.
- In justified exceptional cases, the subsidy can also be paid up to the full amount of the training allowance.
- The allowance can be paid for the entire period of training.
Note: When severely disabled persons are taken on in an employment relationship following the completed initial or continuing training, an integration allowance of up to 70 per cent of the eligible pay can be paid for a period of one year, provided that the above-mentioned allowances were paid during the initial or continuing training.
You must submit the following proof with the application for training allowance:
- Training or further education contract (copy),
- Disability of the apprentice or trainee (copy of the equality or disability certificate),
- Entry in the register of training relationships.
In the case of an application for an integration grant, the following evidence is required:
- Signed employment contract,
- Proof of completed education or training,
- Notification of the degree of disability (copy of equality or disability certificate).

Further requirements
- Conclusion of a training contract,
- Trainee is disabled or severely disabled (degree of disability of at least 50),
- Training or further training is not achievable without funding,
- There is a suitability for the qualification being pursued,
- A training allowance is paid,
- The Federal Employment Agency is the responsible rehabilitation agency.
- In the case of employment after initial or continuing training:
- Conclusion of an employment contract (employment subject to compulsory insurance),
- the previous training relationship was also subsidised.
- As an employer, you apply for the subsidy at the Federal Employment Agency; to do so, contact the employer service of the agency responsible for you.
- The employment agency decides on the subsidy and pays it to you.
- Application (training grant): before the start of the training
- Duration of payment: maximum until the end of the training
- Application (integration grant): before taking up employment
Note: In the case of a subsequent application, a subsidy can be granted from the month of application at the earliest.
