The water register is an official register similar to the land register. It records water rights and information on protected areas established for water management purposes. The register provides an overview and evidence of decisions made by the authorities.

In order to inspect documents to which the entry refers, you must demonstrate a legal interest. Certain documents can only be inspected with the consent of the authorised person.

Online searches in the water book are not possible until further notice, the digital water book of the Free State of Saxony is currently being revised.

EXTRACT FROM THE WATER REGISTER

• Request an official extract from the water register from the responsible office by fax, e-mail or letter.
• In your letter, provide details of the relevant water area and/or the rights holder (if known with the water book number) and state the reason for your request.
• The water authority will prepare the printouts for you and send them to you for a fee.

Tip: The more precise your details are, the faster your application can be processed. If necessary, inspect the digital water book in advance.
