Application for a promotional loan to finance studies, KfW programme no. 173

Together with KfW and the Federal Office of Administration (Bundesverwaltungsamt), the Federal Government offers pupils and students in advanced stages of their education a low-interest subsidy: the education loan.

monthly either EUR 100.00, EUR 200.00 or EUR 300.00

Payment
A partial amount can be paid out in advance against proof.

Repayment

• first 4 start-up years: interest-free and repayment-free
• thereafter monthly instalments of EUR 120.00.

Eligible applicants

• Students who have passed their intermediate examination
• Students who are enrolled in a consecutive degree programme
• Students who already have a vocational qualification or are currently studying for one

Further requirements

• german citizenship or
• permanent residence in Germany
• Full-time education
• Age between 18 and 36 years

• Application: none
• Loan interest rates are always published on 1 April and 1 October for the coming half-year

• Complete the application and send it to the Federal Office of Administration with the necessary supporting documents.
• If your application is approved, you will receive a notification of benefit and a contract offer from KfW.
• Send the signed contract to KfW.
• Set up a loan account in the KfW online portal. You will receive the payments via this account.
