Granting of a benefit for integration according to § 16 of Book II of the Social Code (SGB II)
A work opportunity is an integration benefit for selected employable persons entitled to benefits (eLb), in which the participants perform additional, non-competitive activities that are in the public interest.
The individual assignment period of the unemployed is generally limited to a total of 24 months within five years. Since 1 August 2016, participation can be extended once for a further twelve months. In any case, the eligibility requirements are checked again; automatic extension of the assignment is excluded.
