Cemetery statutes of the respective institution

If you wish to erect or alter a gravestone or any other building or structure in a cemetery, you must obtain the permission of the respective cemetery administration.

The point of contact for denominational cemeteries is the respective cemetery office. The cemeteries of Jewish and Muslim communities are also administered by the respective community.

The cemetery authorities have drawn up bylaws that contain guidelines with more or less detailed information on the shape and condition of graves and even the planting of graves. Stonemasonry firms offering gravestones must inform themselves about the existing guidelines. They are obliged to offer their clients only gravesites that comply with the cemetery statutes.
