The following documents must be submitted with the application:

The following data is collected for enrolment:

Foreign language
Only students who have been taught English continuously from the 5th to the 10th grade can attend the Berufliches Gymnasium.
School-leaving certificate
The prerequisite for admission to grade 11 of the Berufliches Gymnasium is the Realschulabschluss or an equivalent intermediate school-leaving certificate, provided that
- the grade "good" was awarded at least twice in German, maths and English and in a subject assigned to the specialisation in the corresponding final certificate and the average grade calculated from the grades of all subjects in this final certificate is at least 2.5 or
- the average grade of the final certificate of the vocational or specialised vocational school, which proves successful completion of vocational training of at least two years' duration, is at least 2.5.
For the admission requirements, the subject Biology is assigned to the specialisations

- Biotechnology and
- Health and Social Services,
the subject Chemistry to the specialisation

Pupils from the general grammar school fulfil the admission requirements if they transfer from year 10 to year 11 of the general grammar school to the vocational grammar school.
A school qualification acquired abroad is deemed equivalent to the Realschulabschluss or intermediate school leaving certificate, provided that it has been recognised as equivalent by the school supervisory authority. The admission requirements are met if the average grade calculated from all subjects of this qualification is at least 2.5.
Applicants who do not fulfil the grade requirements but whose average grade for all subjects is better than 3.0 can also be admitted to vocational grammar schools if their aptitude is determined in a subject-oriented aptitude interview
Students will not be admitted,
- who have already been refused admission to the Abitur examination or
- who have already failed the Abitur examination for the general higher education entrance qualification.
Age limit
Pupils may not have reached the age of 18 at the start of the school year in year 11 and may not have reached the age of 21 if they have completed vocational training.
Exceptions
The school management may allow exceptions to the general admission requirements
- in special circumstances for which the pupil is not responsible (in particular prolonged illness),
- if the pupil has completed a voluntary social, educational or ecological year
- on the basis of a federal voluntary service or voluntary military service or
- if the student has completed a stay abroad of at least six and no more than twelve months within the last three years prior to admission in order to improve their foreign language skills.
Transfer to another vocational grammar school
Pupils can only transfer to another vocational grammar school for an important reason. At the end of year 11, a transfer is only possible to a vocational grammar school with the same specialisation. The same applies to students in grades 12 and 13, but they must also provide proof from the receiving vocational grammar school that they can continue the courses to be taken and bring them in.
none
Please contact the school in question for information on the costs of training at an independent school.
If you are already of legal age, you can enrol at the school yourself. If you are not yet of legal age, your parents must do this for you.
Please note: Both parents must register together if they have joint custody. If one of the partners is unable to attend, a power of attorney and a copy of the absent parent's ID must be presented.
Selection procedure
- If the capacity of the vocational grammar school cannot cope with the number of applicants and no neighbouring vocational grammar schools in the same subject area can accept the students, a selection procedure will take place.
Decision
- The decision on admission and the change of school as well as other related decisions are made by the school management of the vocational school centre. You will be informed of the result in writing.
- The decision on admission is made subject to the proviso that you submit any missing leaving certificate or promotion certificate and that classes are actually formed at the vocational grammar school.
Application: by 31 March of the year in which admission to the school is intended.
Please note: Applications received after the application deadline will only be considered in the selection process once a decision has been made on all applications for admission received on time.
Decision on admission to the Berufliches Gymnasium: by 15 May.
