In addition to the school's counselling and assistance services, you as a pupil or parent can also make use of the school psychological counselling services at the locations of the State Office for Schools and Education. Here you will receive support with all questions and problems regarding education, learning and behaviour as well as help in coping with the pupils' lives.
School psychological counselling is also available to the school supervisory authorities, school administrators and teachers.
The school psychologists will not work without the consent of the parents or the pupil.
- Pupils under 14 years of age: consent of the parents or guardians
- Pupil is 14 years of age or older, but not yet of age: consent of the parent or guardian and the pupil
- Pupil is of age: consent of the pupil
Minors may also contact the school psychologists for initial counselling without the consent of their parents or guardians. For further talks or measures, however, the parents or guardians must then declare their consent in writing. In exceptional cases, where there are concrete indications that informing the parents or guardians would endanger the physical, mental or psychological well-being of the pupil, further discussions can also be held without the parents' consent.
Contact the Department 31, School Psychology of the State Office for Schools and Education responsible for your school district by telephone or in writing (-> responsible office).
You can also ask teachers, counselling teachers, the school management or the staff of the locations to arrange an appointment and to provide support.
- Agreement on a confidential discussion
- Discussion only between the pupil and the school psychologist; if necessary and with agreement, teachers, the school administration or staff of the locations can be consulted
- Counselling may also include psycho-diagnostic examinations, e.g. of perception, concentration, memory, intelligence and the development of personality traits.
- subsequently, joint counselling on possible solutions and further steps, if necessary, further treatment by a doctor or therapist
