If you have rent arrears and are threatened with eviction from your home, the social welfare office can take over these rent arrears in certain cases.

The assistance is usually granted as a loan. The decision always depends on the individual case, there is no legal entitlement.

Firstly, contact your landlord or landlady. If you are in a financial position to do so, you can, for example, agree with him or her to pay the accrued rent in instalments.
