In Saxony, building documents for the construction and alteration of buildings that do not require a procedure must be signed by an author authorised to submit building documents. A person who is registered in the list of persons authorised to submit building documents maintained by the Saxony Chamber of Engineers (Ingeneurkammer Sachsen) is entitled to submit building documents. Registrations from other federal states also apply in the Free State of Saxony.

Complete the application for entry in the list of persons authorised to submit building documents for natural persons with residence or office in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Enclose the following documents and evidence with your written application:

• Your diploma certificate and the certificate of your degree in architecture, structural engineering or civil engineering
• Proof of at least two years of professional experience:
• Submit your complete projects of non-procedural buildings, including the building application.
• Please note that the sum of the processing time of project phases 1 - 4 of your projects equals at least two years.
• Proof of professional liability insurance
• Your official certificate of good conduct, which must not be older than six months

Note: If you are not clearly identifiable as the author of the design, supplement your documents with a confirmation from your employer about the respective project.

If you want to be included in the list of persons authorised to submit building documents, you must meet these requirements:

• You have a university degree in one of the following disciplines:
  • Architecture
  • Structural engineering
  • Civil engineering
• You must be able to demonstrate at least two years' professional experience after graduation as a design draftsman for the construction and alteration of buildings.

• for members of the Saxony Chamber of Engineers: EUR 450.00
• for non-members of the Chamber of Engineers Saxony: EUR 545.00
• Basic fee for the first registration: EUR 40.00

Submit your application with the prescribed forms and all required documents to the Chamber of Engineers Sachen.

The Chamber of Engineers will then check whether all requirements are met and inform you about the registration.
