The school supervisory authority may, on application, confer the status of a recognised supplementary school on a proven supplementary school in which there is a special educational or other state interest, if it provides teaching in accordance with a curriculum approved by the school supervisory authority.
Recognition of supplementary schools according to the Saxon Law on Independent Schools and the Saxon Independent School Ordinance (Sächsischer Freie-Träger-Schulverordnung)
The school supervisory authority may, on application, confer the status of a recognised supplementary school on a proven supplementary school in which there is a special educational or other state interest, if it provides teaching in accordance with a curriculum approved by the school supervisory authority.
Recognition shall entitle the supplementary school to hold examinations in accordance with the examination regulations approved by the school supervisory authority. The school supervisory authority shall determine the composition of the examination boards.
- in the case of natural persons as school authorities: their curriculum vitae in tabular form
- in the case of legal persons under private law or equivalent foreign organisations: proof of how and to what extent the person authorised to represent the school acts on behalf of the school authority
- for the school management and teaching staff, evidence of:
- training
- participation in further and in-service training
- professional career
- proof of the right to use the designated premises
- acceptance certificates from the competent authorities for the building, health, safety at work and fire protection acceptance of the intended premises
- curriculum
- financing plan for the next three school years
- certificates of good conduct (to be submitted only upon request by the State Office for Schools and Education)
- The application for recognition of a supplementary school may be submitted after five years of uninterrupted operation at the earliest.
- Teaching must be provided according to a curriculum approved by the school supervisory authority.
- For the recognition of your supplementary school, a
- special educational or
- other state interest must exist for your supplementary school to be recognised.
- Another state interest is only given if
- the school offers the school-leaving certificate of a member state of the European Union or
- an international qualification recognised by the Länder as a higher education entrance qualification.
- At least the teaching of German must be given in German.
- After the application documents have been submitted to the Bautzen location of the State Office for Schools and Education, the latter checks the completeness and correctness of the application documents and, if all requirements are met, grants recognition.
