If you want to make a fire or use open light in the forest or at a distance of less than 100 metres from the edge of the forest, you need a permit from the Forstbehörde.
Exceptions apply to
- the forest owner

- Hunters (persons authorised to hunt)

Owners of properties on the edge of the forest may light and maintain a fire on their property, provided that the fireplace is at least 30 metres away from the edge of the forest. In addition, please ask the municipal or local authority whether bonfires generally require authorisation.
Attention!
Smoking is not permitted in the forest. Exceptions only apply to the group of people mentioned in the first three lines. In general, burning and smouldering objects may not be thrown away or otherwise handled carelessly in the forest or at a distance of less than 100 metres from the forest.
Information on the documents required for the application can be obtained from the lower Forstbehörde.
Submit a written application to the local lower Forstbehörde ("responsible department").
