Application for grants for literacy projects for low-literate adults according to the SMK-ESF-Plus Guideline "Educational Potentials Lifelong Learning 2021-2027", Part II.A Literacy and basic education projects for low-literate adults, No. 02204 ("BILDUNGSPOTENZIALE LEBENSLANGES LERNEN 2021-2027", TEIL II.A VORHABEN ZUR ALPHABETISIERUNG UND GRUNDBILDUNG VON GERING LITERALISIERTEN ERWACHSENEN, NR. 02204)
The acquisition of basic writing and reading skills is intended to enable those affected to participate appropriately in social life. Literacy projects and the coordination and information of stakeholders and participants are co-financed from this funding programme up to the total amount of eligible expenses.

- legal persons under private law
- partnerships with legal capacity
What is funded?
- Literacy projects for adults with low literacy levels with the aim of
- imparting basic skills for appropriate participation in social life
- to increase the employability of the participants
- integration into working life or improvement of the employment situation (training measures)
- Projects for nationwide coordination and information of stakeholders and participants, nationwide public relations, quality assurance, quality development and basic education (coordination office)

up to 100 % of eligible expenditure
Standardised unit costs or flat rates are applied for
- Personnel costs

- Material and administrative expenses
- Expense allowance
Extent/Duration
- Part-time
- minimum eight, maximum 30 hours (one teaching unit = 45 minutes) per week
- Duration: six to twelve months

Note: There is no legal entitlement to this funding.
- Documents and proofs
A detailed list of all required documents can be found in the application form, please coordinate details with your credit institution.
The application must contain a concept for the implementation of the measure and
- the period of time,
- the number of hours of the courses,
- the teaching programme,
- regional reference,
- Practical relevance and sustainability of the project,
- The qualification of the project supervisors and
- the guarantee of material and spatial capacities.

You can submit your application via the SAB funding portal by the respective deadline (see Further information). As a first step, take advantage of the SAB's advisory services.
- You can obtain the necessary forms and fact sheets online here via Amt24 or directly from the SAB.
- Complete the application and submit it to the SAB with the required documents and evidence.
- After the SAB has checked your application, you will receive written notification of whether and to what extent your application has been approved.
Submit the application before you start the project. Once the application has been received by the SAB (date of postmark), you can start the project at your own risk.
Attention! As long as you have not received a notification of approval, you must assume that you will not receive the grant, or that you will not receive the grant in the amount requested or at the time requested.
