Note: from 01.02.2024, no federal funding will be available for the promotion of assisted reproduction measures. Only pro rata funding can be provided from state funds of the Free State of Saxony.
This halves the maximum rates listed below in accordance with the Family Support Directive of 06.07.2023 (RL Familienförderung).
Upon application, the Free State of Saxony can grant subsidies towards the costs of the first four fertility treatments. Funding is available for in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) treatments.

- The applicants both have their main place of residence in Saxony.
- You are married to your partner or live together in a marriage-like relationship (non-marital cohabitation).
- The treatment will be carried out in an authorised facility or practice located in Saxony, in a federal state bordering Saxony or in Berlin.
- IVF treatment (in vitro fertilisation) or ICSI treatment (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) is to be carried out.
- Your age is between 25 and 40 years of age (woman) or between 25 and 50 years of age (man).
- As a couple, you fulfil the requirements of SGB IV, regardless of whether you are married or not.

Important: Please enquire with your treating medical institution about the amount of the costs you will incur and with your health insurance/benefit centre about possible cost coverage.
Important: The following timetable must be observed:
- Have a treatment plan (with cost estimate) drawn up by the treating doctor.
- Obtain a declaration of assumption of costs or a negative decision from the statutory health insurance company, the Beihilfe/Heilfürsorgestelle or the private health insurance company.
- Apply for the subsidy for fertility treatment in writing using the forms provided. You can obtain the relevant form online here via Amt24 (see -> Forms and other offers).
- Please complete the application form in full and submit it together with the treatment plan (with cost estimate), the declaration of assumption of costs and the other documents to the responsible office. You will also find a detailed list of all the required documents in the relevant application form. Please coordinate details with the responsible office.
- After the responsible office has checked your application, you will receive written notification as to whether and to what extent you will receive a subsidy for fertility treatment.
Please note: The actual medical treatment can only begin once you have received a positive notification (approval notice) in writing that a grant has been awarded. This means that the treatment contract can be concluded or the patient declaration between the patient and doctor can be submitted or prescriptions issued as part of the treatment can be redeemed at the pharmacy.

Note: The day on which the prescription for hormone treatment is honoured is deemed to be the start of treatment.
