As a youth leader, you can apply for a so-called youth leader card. This is a standardized national ID card for volunteers in youth work and also grants various benefits.
The Youth Leader Card (JULEICA) is designed to recognize, strengthen and support volunteers in youth work. It can be issued as a nationwide standardized ID card for volunteers in youth work
and serves as legitimation and proof of qualification. The issue of the youth leader card is reserved for youth leaders who have received sufficient practical and theoretical qualification to carry out their duties. The relevant training must have been provided by a recognized independent youth welfare organization or by a public youth welfare organization as defined in SGB VIII. Possession of the JULEICA entitles the holder to selected discounts and reduced admission prices, for example for cultural events. Local authorities, companies and businesses have various options for supporting and appreciating volunteers.
If you meet the requirements, no separate documents are required apart from a photo, which is inserted digitally.
The JULEICA was developed for volunteers in youth work. Youth leaders can acquire a JULEICA if they
-
are at least 16 years old,
-
have completed Juleica training and first aid training in accordance with the aforementioned recommendations and have provided evidence of this to the organization and
-
work on a voluntary basis for a youth work organization in Saarland.
The following is also required
- a valid e-mail address
- a digital portrait photo
The application for the youth leader card is made online. The application procedure is as follows:
- As a youth leader, you register on the official website and create a user account there.
- You enter the required data (such as name, date of birth, place of residence), whereupon you will be redirected.
- You will then be asked in which federal state the organization is based and which organization you work for as a volunteer.
- You then enter the details of the training course and upload a photo of yourself.
- After submitting the application, the organization will check whether all requirements for the Youth Leader Card have been met.
- If this is the case, the card will be printed and sent either to your address or to an address requested by the sponsor.
The JULEICA can be issued for a maximum period of 3 years. Renewal of the youth leader card: In this case, participation in one or more further training events of at least 8 hours (10 training units) must be proven for refresher training.
The discounts associated with holding a JULEICA can vary greatly from region to region. To get an overview, there is a database containing the discounts sorted by region.
Youth leaders work on a voluntary basis. As a sign of recognition, encouragement and as a small thank you for their commitment, they can receive discounts with the JULEICA. In addition, possession of the JULEICA is proof of a defined quality standard with regard to the training that the youth leaders have undergone
