Have you discovered explosive ordnance or are you not sure whether your find is ammunition? Please inform the police immediately by calling 110 or the local regulatory authority.
Even today, there is a high risk of being injured or even killed if munitions or explosive ordnance are found. The longer they lie in the ground, the more dangerous the ammunition can become. Found munitions are not always recognizable as such at first glance. The size and shape of a munition also do not indicate the danger it may still pose.
In order to protect yourself and others, please inform the police immediately by calling 110 or the local public order office whenever you find explosive ordnance.
Tell the police or the local public order office who you are, where you found the explosive ordnance and describe the item. Follow the further instructions of the police or the local regulatory authority.
You may have found explosive ordnance and would like to report the find?
The best thing to do is to call the police on 110 or the local public order office (Ordnungsamt) and inform them of the discovery.
Tell the police: WHO you are, WHAT you think you have found (a brief description of the item or a cell phone photo is helpful), WHEN you found the item, WHERE the ammunition was found and WHERE the location is, WHERE you can meet the police.
This information makes it easier for the police and also for the ammunition recovery service to make further decisions.
Please follow further instructions from the police or the local regulatory authority.
If you do not report the discovery of possible explosive ordnance, you are exposing yourself and other people to great danger. You may even be liable to prosecution.
