You can find the person you are looking for by obtaining information from your municipality's register of residents.
You can find the person you are looking for by obtaining information from your municipality's population register. There are the following types of information from the population register:
- Simple information from the population register
- extended civil register information
- Residents' register information for political parties and voter groups
- Residents' register information for landlords
- Self-reporting
- Group information
- As precise information as possible about the person you are looking for
(Combination possible of: Surname, first name, date of birth, previous names, gender, address)
If the data is used for commercial purposes, this must be stated. It is prohibited to use data from a population register for commercial purposes without this purpose having been stated at the time of the request.
The following requirements must be met:
- The person you are looking for must be clearly identifiable on the basis of your information; this means that you already have data on the person concerned; these are usually
- the first name and surname
- the date of birth
- the gender or
- an address.
- If you use the data for commercial purposes, you must specify this.
- You may not use the data for advertising or address trading purposes and must declare this when making the request.
In the case of extended information from the population register, you must demonstrate a legitimate interest.
You can apply for information from the population register in person or in writing to the relevant office.
Some municipalities offer the option of requesting information from the population register online.
Only information on private individuals can be obtained from the population register. Information on companies or commercial enterprises can only be obtained from the trade register.
You can find the person you are looking for by obtaining information from your municipality's register of residents.
The registration authority of the place of residence of the person you are looking for or, in the case of self-disclosure, the registration authority responsible for your place of residence.
