Zulassung eines Futtermittelunternehmens beantragen

If you wish to produce or distribute certain feedstuffs, you must apply for approval for the feed company concerned.

In certain cases, you need an approval for your feed business.

The aim of the regulations is to ensure a high level of protection for human and animal health as well as for the environment. To achieve this, feed safety must be ensured along the entire food chain. Feed business operators have a high level of responsibility in this respect.

When your feed business is approved, it must be recorded in detail - depending on the activity - what type of feed is used, how it is used and whether all requirements and regulations are complied with.

In the course of the inspection, your feed company may be inspected. The company can then be approved - possibly with conditions.

• Proof of identity (identity card or passport)
• If applicable: Power of attorney
• Proof of expertise
• Proof of reliability
• Third country declaration, if applicable, if you are acting as a third country representative

• You must be a registered feed business operator or act on their behalf.
• You must manufacture and/or trade feed additives, premixtures or certain compound feeds.
• Your business must meet all infrastructure and equipment requirements

• You complete the application and submit it together with the required documents.
• The application and the documents will be checked for completeness.
• The requirements for approval of your feed company will be checked.
• If necessary, an on-site appointment will then be arranged with you to check the infrastructural and equipment requirements.
• If all conditions are met, you will be granted approval for the feed business.
• If not all requirements are met during the inspection of the operation, you may be granted conditional approval in certain cases and a further inspection/inspection may be carried out after three months.
• On the basis of the documents and inspection results, a decision is made as to whether or not the farm is approved.

• Information on the type of activity must be clarified prior to authorization (production and/or placing on the market of feed additives, premixtures, feed materials or compound feed)
• On-site inspection by feed inspectors is generally possible
