The state grants subsidies for measures that serve to safeguard, preserve and restore architectural monuments, movable monuments and ground monuments.

It is the duty of every monument owner to preserve and maintain the monument. To this end, preparatory investigations and expert opinions may be called upon by the Saarland State Monuments Office if necessary in individual cases. Every monument owner is entitled to the legally regulated tax relief if they maintain and use their monument in consultation with the Landesdenkmalamt as the responsible authority.

is always the additional costs incurred as a result of the monument. The investigations and expert opinions used by the Saarland State Office for Monuments in individual cases are part of an application for the approval of financial grants for the preservation of the monument.

The information on which the granting, reclaiming and retention of the grant is dependent are subsidy-relevant facts within the meaning of Section 264 of the German Criminal Code.
The guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Culture for the granting of state subsidies from funds for the preservation and restoration of cultural monuments (Denkmalförderrichtlinie - DFRL -) of October 7, 2020 must be observed and complied with.
Anyone who provides false or incomplete information or conceals facts relevant to the subsidy is liable to prosecution.
The public procurement regulations must be applied.
The applicant is not entitled to the grant. The granting authority decides on the basis of its dutiful discretion within the framework of the available budget funds.
