If you apply sustainable farming practices, you can receive an annual basic income support for sustainability. These direct payments are not linked to payment entitlements and are granted per eligible hectare.
As active farmers, you can apply for annual direct payments under the common agricultural policy, which are linked to specific conditions. These payments are intended to promote the economic stability of your farms and meet specific requirements. These include sustainable farming, environmental and climate protection as well as social aspects such as the redistribution of income and support for younger farmers. The exact conditions and scope of the payments are granted per eligible hectare or specific agricultural practice, depending on the focus.
The different payments include decoupled and coupled forms of support. Decoupled forms of support are not linked to specific production quantitiesor products, such as direct payments as basic income support for
- basic income support for sustainability,
- climate and environmental schemes,
- Supplementary redistributive income support for sustainability
- Supplementary income support for young farmers.
Coupled forms of support relate directly to specific agricultural products or sectors that are of particular importance for socio-economic or environmental reasons, such as direct payments as

- Proof of agricultural activity: For example, lease or ownership contracts, proof of management or farm records
- Farm income: For example, tax documents or annual financial statements
- Active farming: For example, the most recent decision of the competent BG or account statement on payment or, for new entrants/first-time applicants, proof of the start of responsibility, if Regulation (EC) 883/2004 applies: A1 certificate, employment contract for additional workers

- Submission of the articles of association,

- Extract from the register of associations/commercial register/register of cooperatives
- Power of attorney, if applicable
- If applicable, proof of compliance with publicity requirements
- If applicable, proof of power of disposal for parcels applied for for the first time or after an interruption of at least three years

- You are an active farmer.
- Your farm is registered in the responsible Member State.
- You own at least 1 agricultural hectare in Saarland.
- You farm eligible hectares in accordance with the CAP Strategic Plans.
- You qualify for at least € 225 direct payment premium by means of coupled forms of support.
- Submit the application for direct payments via the online portal. Please note the deadline for the application: annually by 15.05.
- If you are a new applicant, complete the"Software request for agricultural support" form online to receive your access data.
- Once you are registered, you can download and start theapplication program directly.
- For farm transfers or start-ups:
- Apply for a new applicant number.
- Also complete thefarm transfer form before submitting your application.
- Integrate the components applicable to your application, such as basic income support, redistributive income support, young farmer income support and eco-schemes.
- Submit the requested documents and evidence digitally.
- The competent authority will check your application. If the examination is successful, you will receive a notice of approval. If the result is negative, you will receive a rejection notice with reasons for the decision.
- You will receive your payment in accordance with the conditions stated in the decision.
There is no statutory deadline for processing applications for the support program.
Direct payments must be made by June 30 of the year following the year of application at the latest
May 15 of the application year: Last day for submitting the collective application without late reductions for direct payments. This date also applies if the day falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday.
Until May 31st of the application year: Late submission of applications. Exception for coupled income support (animal premium). Rejection of applications after May 15 of the application year
After May31 of the application year: Rejection of applications for direct payments.
This is a non-repayable grant. The information contained in your application, the provisions on which the grant is based and the circumstances specified in Section 4 of the Subsidies Act that are relevant to the approval, granting, reclaiming and continuation or retention of this grant are subsidy-relevant facts within the meaning of Section 264 of the German Criminal Code.
