The electoral roll includes all citizens who are likely to be eligible to vote on election day and who have their main residence in the municipality.
An official voters' register is kept in each electoral district for upcoming elections (European, Bundestag, state and local elections). All citizens who are likely to be eligible to vote on election day and have their main residence in the municipality are entered in the electoral roll.
Eligible voters who are registered in the municipality on the cut-off date (42nd day before the election) are entered in the electoral roll ex officio and notified at least three weeks before the election day (election notification).
If you are eligible to vote and have not received a voter's notification, you should contact your municipality immediately.
If necessary, evidence to prove the requirement for the necessary correction of the electoral roll (e.g. identity card).
Voters should have received their voter's notification by the 21st day before the election. If you have not received a notification by mistake, please contact your local authority (town hall, district administration).
The electoral roll is available for inspection at your local authority from the 20th to the 16th day before the election.
