Drinking water is subject to monitoring by the authorities responsible for drinking water monitoring in the districts and independent cities from the time it is extracted and, if necessary, treated in the waterworks until it is made available to the consumer at the tap. Regular testing of drinking water in accordance with the Drinking Water Ordinance serves to ensure the impeccable quality of foodstuff no. 1.
The tasks of the authorities responsible for drinking water monitoring include the inspection and monitoring of public water supply companies, domestic wells and mobile water supply systems (e.g. ships) as well as the monitoring of drinking water installations in buildings and facilities where drinking water is supplied as part of a public or commercial activity
(e.g. hospitals, retirement homes, care facilities, hotels, sports facilities, apartment buildings). Privately used buildings (e.g. if lead pipes are suspected) can also be included in the monitoring.
As part of the monitoring, drinking water samples are taken for testing or tests are commissioned. The authorities responsible for drinking water monitoring evaluate the test results and provide advice to the operators of water supply systems and consumers.
In the case of a consultation, technical documentation of your water supply system and/or results of drinking water tests.
