You must also inform the authority if you wish to make significant changes to an existing and approved X-ray system. In this case, you will need a new permit.

• You send the application for approval for the operation or modification of an X-ray device to the competent authority.
• Upon receipt of the application and the complete documentation, the competent authority will check whether the requirements for approval have been met.
• After a final assessment by the competent authority, you will receive the decision in the form of a notification.

You must apply for approval before you put the X-ray equipment into operation. You may only put the X-ray equipment into operation once you have received written approval.
