Teaser

Elections are organized by the administrations of the municipalities, cities and districts.

Volltext

Your contacts for elections are the administrations of the municipalities, towns and districts. You can cast your vote in person in the polling station assigned to you on election day using the polling card sent to you.

Alternatively, you can vote by post. In this case, you must apply for a polling card. You submit the application to the office indicated on the polling card.

Another person can apply for a polling card on your behalf with your written authorization or, under certain conditions, receive your voting documents.

Frist

Voters should have received their voter's notification by the 21st day before the election. If you have not received a notification by mistake, please contact your local authority (town hall, district administration). The electoral roll is available for inspection at your local authority from the 20th to the 16th day before the election.

If you are entered in the electoral roll, you can also vote or apply for a postal vote without a polling card. You can apply for a postal vote in writing (e.g. using the polling card application form on the back of the election notification), by email or in person at the polling station. Many municipal authorities also have an application form on their website that you can fill out directly. If you collect your postal voting documents in person, you can also vote on the spot. Please provide your full name, address and date of birth and - if known - your number on the electoral roll. If you do not wish to have the documents sent to your home address, please also state the different address (e.g. vacation address).
