Market activity in the slaughter cattle sector is subject to strong fluctuations due to the constant change in supply and demand. In addition, there are a large number of suppliers and buyers, which makes it very difficult to gain an overview of the market. In order to ensure market transparency nevertheless, there is the instrument of official price quotation.
Monitoring is essentially based on the Meat Act with the corresponding implementing ordinances and the Trade Classes Act with the respective ordinances for the individual animal species.
