Vaccinations are one of the most important measures to prevent diseases. For example, some diseases no longer occur or occur only very rarely because people have largely had themselves vaccinated.

Before vaccines are approved, their effectiveness and safety must be proven in studies.

After that, the independent Standing Commission on Vaccination (STIKO) reviews who should be recommended for vaccination in Germany and when it is most appropriate to administer it. Individual advice from your doctor or the responsible office is based on these recommendations.

Verfahrensablauf

Contact your family doctor or the public health department. They will advise you and vaccinate you.

Tip: On the website of the Robert Koch Institute you will find the recommendations of the Standing Committee on Vaccination with the vaccinations that infants, young children, adolescents and adults should receive. You will also find a table of indication and booster vaccinations. The recommendations are explained with reasons and messages.
