The workshop card identifies the card holder and contains the details of the recognized specialist and the workshop.

Maintenance of the digital tachograph/control unit may only be carried out by recognized workshops. Workshop cards are issued to qualified workshop personnel for the inspection, repair and calibration of the tachograph required in this context, as well as for downloading data and for data backup. Validity of the workshop card: 1 year

• Application for renewal due to expiry at the earliest 1 month before the expiry date
• Application for replacement due to loss or theft - within 7 calendar days of becoming aware of it
• If the specialist leaves the company - confiscation of the workshop card by the company and immediate return of the card to the LAGuS

The processing time is 7 to 10 days.

• Business registration (copy) or commercial register entry (copy) of the company
• Identity card (copy) of the company owner or the responsible managing director/partner
• Recognition or authorization of the company according to § 57 b StVZO (copy)
  Not older than 3 years
• Proof of training according to § 57 b StVZO (copy) of the specialist

• ID card (copy) of the specialist
• Proof of employment of the specialist, signed by employer and employee

• When applying for renewal due to correction, malfunction or damage
  - Return of the card that can no longer be used
• When applying for replacement due to loss or theft
  - Written declaration of loss or proof of a theft report to the police

• Workshops, manufacturers of tachographs and recording equipment manufacturers that are recognized and commissioned in accordance with Section 57b StVZO
• Professional suitability of the company owner or the responsible managing director/partner and the responsible specialist in accordance with Section 7 (1) FPerV
• Registered office in MV

1. Checking the application received for completeness and legibility
2. Preparation and dispatch of the notification of costs to the applicant
3. After receipt of payment - ordering the workshop card from the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA)
4. Dispatch of the workshop card by the KBA to the competent authority (here: LAGuS) and the associated workshop card PIN to the private address of the company's responsible specialist
5. Information of the applicant by the LAGuS about receipt of the workshop card at the respective issuing location
6. Issue of the workshop card against receipt to the company owner, the responsible managing director/partner or an authorized person
