Under certain circumstances, you may be excluded from participating in the European elections.
If you have German citizenship, this is the case if you no longer have the right to vote due to a court decision.
The same applies to you if you are a citizen of the European Union. In addition, you may lose your right to vote due to a civil or criminal court decision in your country of origin.

You have been deprived of your right to vote by a court decision in Germany or by a civil or criminal law decision in your country of origin.
Exclusion from the European elections is carried out as follows:
- the courts send the relevant judgments to the municipal administration,
- the municipal administration notes the exclusion from the right to vote in the register of residents.

- for citizens of the Union:
- by court decision in Germany
- by civil or criminal law decision in the country of origin
- competent: Court in Germany, state of origin, mayor or mayoress
In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the point of contact in the municipalities belonging to the district is the head of the district and for the other municipalities the mayor.
The following documents must be submitted together with the election proposal as proof of non-exclusion from eligibility:
- Annex 16 to Section 32 (4) no. 2 EuWO - Certificate of eligibility for Germans
- Annex 16A to Section 32 (4) no. 2a EuWO - certificate of residence/other habitual abode and non-exclusion from eligibility for Union citizens
- Annex 16B to Section 32 (4) no. 2b EuWO - Affidavit in lieu of an oath by a Union citizen pursuant to Section 11 (2) sentence 1 no. 1c of the European Elections Act
