If you would like to provide training in your company, the responsible body, for example the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), will advise and support you.

Your company must also be recognized by the competent authority as a training institution for the agricultural and domestic professions.

Your company may only employ and train trainees if

• the type and facilities of the training facility are suitable for vocational training and
• the number of trainees is proportionate to the number of training places or the number of skilled workers employed.

If your company wants to provide training for the first time, the suitability will be checked on site. In addition, the training advisors will inform all those involved in the vocational training about the content requirements of dual vocational training.

If your company is unable to provide the required vocational skills, knowledge and abilities in full on site, you may be able to compensate for this with off-site training measures.

Even after the initial assessment, the advisors regularly visit the companies and operating sites in their region to support and advise you on proper training.

Depending on the training area and occupation, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Chamber of Crafts, Chamber of Agriculture or another body may be responsible for checking suitability.

In the agricultural and domestic science professions, recognition as a training center must also be granted by the competent authority under state law. In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, this authority is the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Office for Agriculture, Food Safety and Fisheries.

As a rule, no fees are charged by the office responsible for the consultation.

If you as a company would like to train for the first time or in a new profession, you should contact the relevant office as early as possible.

• The advisor will arrange an appointment with you for an initial consultation.
• A detailed consultation is then usually held at your training center.
• If the advisor determines that further interviews, site visits, documents or evidence are required, a next appointment will be arranged with you as soon as possible.
• Alternatively, the advisor can also decide that the exchange with you will take place in written, electronic or telephone form.
• Once all outstanding issues have been clarified from your point of view and that of the advisor, the process is complete.
• If the consultant determines that training cannot be provided in your company or can only be provided under certain conditions, you will receive a corresponding notification from the chamber or from the competent authority under state law.

Once it has been determined that your company is suitable for training, you may hire and train apprentices.

• The procedure usually takes between three and 30 days.
• If the advisor requires additional on-site visits, documents or evidence from the company to clarify questions, the time is extended accordingly.
