Anyone wishing to slaughter or kill domestic animals or ungulates kept as farmed game outside an approved slaughterhouse for their own domestic consumption must register the animal in question with the competent authority:

• for official ante-mortem inspection if the person authorized to dispose of the animal has discovered a disturbance in the general condition of the animal immediately before the intended slaughter which is not due to an accident that occurred immediately beforehand,
• to register for official post-mortem inspection and
• in the case of pigs, horses or other hoofed animals that may be carriers of Trichinella, for official examination for Trichinella.
