Would you like to give up your position as an authorized district chimney sweep? To do so, you must contact the competent authority. You can find out more here.

Any authorized district chimney sweep wishing to give up their position must have this administrative act revoked by the competent authority. The district chimney sweep must then apply for deletion from the Register of Craftsmen and, if necessary, deregister his trade if the entire activity is to be discontinued.

• If applicable, application by the authorized district chimney sweep for revocation of the appointment as an authorized district chimney sweep.
• In order to clarify whether the requirements of indent 1 have been met, the competent authority may request the authorized district chimney sweep to submit an official medical report on his state of health at his own expense if there are demonstrable signs of physical infirmity or weakness of his physical or mental powers.
• If applicable, deregistration of the trade and application for deletion from the trade register.

The competent authority may revoke the appointment as an authorized district chimney sweep either at the request of the person concerned or

• if facts demonstrably prove that the authorized district chimney sweep does not possess the necessary personal or professional reliability for the exercise of the office or
• if facts demonstrably prove that the authorized district chimney sweep is permanently incapable of exercising his profession due to a physical infirmity or a weakness of his physical or mental powers.

However, it ends at the latest at the end of the month in which the appointed person reaches the age of 67.

The competent authority may also request the authorized district chimney sweep to submit an official medical report on his state of health at his own expense in order to clarify whether the requirements of Section 12 (2) SchfHwG are met if there are demonstrable signs of physical infirmity or weakness in his physical or mental strength.

Once you have submitted the application and all documents are complete, the competent authority will check whether you meet all the requirements.

If you meet all the requirements, the competent authority will issue a notice releasing you from the position of authorized district chimney sweep.

The competent authority must immediately notify the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control of the revocation of the appointment for the purposes of maintaining the chimney sweep register by the competent authority.

If the documents are complete, the application will be processed promptly.
